Statkraft was presented with the ABE 2016 award in the labor flexibility category. The power generation and transmission company received this award from the Good Employers’ Association for implementing different time benefits that promote quality of life among employees.

The awarded program was conceived within the framework of Statkraft’s culture under the premise that productivity and engagement are improved by providing employees with flexibility. To that effect, the company decided to extend the maternity leave as required by law, provide home office or medical leave for minor ailments, leave for wedding, moving or passing of a relative, and flexible hours to reduce stress for traffic, among other initiatives.

The company is convinced that by respecting the quality of life of employees, they will better appreciate the value of their time and families, and secure a personal-working balance, which ultimately results in commitment and productivity. “In Statkraft we believe that productivity is measured by results and not by the number of working hours or time spent at the office. What is most important for us is for the employee to become aware of the value of his/her time,” remarked Juan Antonio Rozas, Country Manager of the company.

In this sense, 95% of Statkraft’s employees feel satisfied with the program, as the from the very beginning of its operations in Peru, the company has striven to position itself as a responsible employer, with practices aiming at the development and quality of life of its employees.
