Statkraft Peru received the “2016 Sustainable Development Award” in the Local Development Management category, promoted by the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE), and the “2016 Good Labor Practices Award” from the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MINTRA) in the Promotion of work-family balance category.

In light of its standout social and labor commitment, Statkraft Peru was awarded a recognition by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MINTRA), and the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy (SNMPE) for its contribution to the promotion of social and labor initiatives.

In view of the management, promotion and leverage of four major social projects, Statkraft received the “2016 Sustainable Development Award” promoted by the SNMPE in the Local Development Management category. The recognition was awarded for successfully managing the financing of social projects in the provinces of Huaura, Pasco and Junín, with initiatives for improvement of irrigation systems, improvement of education, expansion of the potable water system and expansion of the electrical system, respectively. This management was made possible by joint efforts with the Government and the communities involved, through the National Investment System (SNIP).

On the other hand, for providing employees with a more adequate life balance, Statkraft Peru received an award in the “Promotion of work-family balance” category in the “2016 Good Labor Practices Contest,” an initiative by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion.

In the contest, the initiatives started by the company for its employees were taken into consideration, such as time benefits for families through flexible working hours, health and wellbeing campaigns at the office, medical assistance for the employee and next-of-kin, personal loans, leadership programs, increased benefits of days off to attend family events, days off after international business travel and home office.

“We are proud to know that SNMPE and MINTRA see in us a major ally to foster labor practices and sustainable development for the communities we work with. This recognition encourages us to keep making contributions in all aspects to help further develop the country on social and labor issues,” remarked Juan Antonio Rozas, Country Manager of Statkraft in Peru.
